Homework questions.

1) How does a film get made, who is involved and what are their jobs?
A film takes years to make, involving different scenes; the idea, development finance, script development, packaging, financing, pre-production, the shoot, pre-production, sales, marketing, exhibition and the other windows. There are hundreds of people involved. The producer, who decides if the the idea could be made into a great film. It's their job to pitch the idea to get money for the film. They also choose who will write the script, and who will The director can visualise a script and make it a reality. The writer defines and clarifies the idea, the cast and plot, and writes a 'treatment'; a one page description of the characters, and the main story. Of course they need to cast the characters, and attract potential buyers.

4) Who is responsible for marketing? The producer, who hires a marketing team and a sales agent.

5) Where do the ideas for films come from? The ideas come from everywhere, newspapers, books, a conversation even.

6) How does the film reach the right audience? By the marketing giving positive feedback to them.
